If you’re unfamiliar with Brown, he’s well known for his impact in the restaurant industry. Indianapolis locals might recognize some of his iconic restaurants: Pizzology Craft Pizza and Pub, Moon Rabbit Ramen, Libertine Liquor Bar, Ukiyo, and now One Trick Pony in the Fishers Test Kitchen.

Neal Brown has become well known as one of the top chefs of the Midwest. His 20+ years of restaurant experience has earned him local and national attention.In 2007, Chef Browns restaurant L’explorateur was voted “Best New Restaurant” by Indianapolis Monthly. He was also voted “Best Chef” by the same publication that same year. Neal has been awarded Indianapolis Business Journal’s prestigious “Forty under 40” award, designating him as one of forty of the most innovative and influential business leaders in Indiana. Neal has been nominated 2 times for the prestigious James Beard Award for Best Chef in the Midwest Region.

“I have a long history with the cheeseburger. When I was nine years old I was invited to a retired farmer, Old John as friends called him, house for dinner. Little did I know that the cheeseburger I would have that evening would teach me lessons I would keep for life: One- When you pick up a burger, you shouldn’t put it down, two- Always have napkins handy, and three- you can connect with people over food without ever saying a word.
