14 Aug Construction Update
The drywall is up at the Fishers Test Kitchen, and I’m so stoked to see the space take shape. Funny, but it looks bigger now than it did when there were no walls.
Don’t get me wrong, though. It’s still a small space. The entire Test Kitchen area is about 3,000 square feet – a small space but a big idea!
Within that 3,000 square feet, we’ll have three completely built-out food stands that will serve customers in the adjacent 350-seat Sun King Brewing taproom. Sun King is a great partner in all this, and they’ll be brewing specialty and seasonal beers at The Yard location.
Soon we’ll be announcing the three chefs that will be launching a new concept in the Test Kitchen. I’m excited to be introducing them to the city (you’re going to love the food!).
The Signature Table at the Fishers Test Kitchen is our culinary performance space. We’ll be scheduling classes, chef demos, wine and beer tastings, special dinners and private events. Imagine being able to take a knife skills class or watch – and sample! – at a demonstration of French cuisine. Or enjoy a beer dinner with dishes paired with Sun King brews. Or go to a chocolate tasting or learn how to make bread or pies or…there are so many possibilities!
It’s pretty awesome that the City of Fishers is investing in a food-focused development. And construction at the whole Yard at Fishers District development is really coming along. The Test Kitchen is situated right on the green space in the middle of the development. I’ve been watching the progress of our neighbors, Havana Cigar Bar and the 1933 Lounge, as well.
